In the same century the Septuagint was reducing the physical vocabulary of the ancient cosmological texts, the Dead Sea Scrolls community at Qumran was preserving and elaborating the physical picture the translation tradition was moving away from. One community reducing. The other building. The same century. The same vocabulary. Two entirely different directions.

The Record follows Dr. Amos Holt and Dr. Mira Koren into the texts that were suppressed before the tradition reduced what it kept — the Book of the Watchers, the Songs of the Sabbath Sacrifice, the Genesis Apocryphon, the Book of Giants. Found in clay jars in a cave in the Judean desert in 1947.

The record was always there. Someone had to go looking.
